To make this happy caterpillar, I used 20 recycled lids in which I wrote numbers from 1 to 20. For the legs I used 20 colourful little sticks. For the head; a piece of cardboard and two eyes.

I created two different activities; I split them into two blog posts. On this first activity, the child sets the numbers 1 to 20  in the correct order.

Chevy set out the numbers in order from 1 to 10. He put the caterpillar’s legs on at the same time as the numbers.

Chevy continued with the numbers from 10 to 20. This time he put the legs after he finished setting the numbers.

Chevy was very pleased with this activity.
