On this arts & craft activity Aubrey and Chevy made a flower for Mother’s Day. The children used dropper bottles filled with food colouring to decorate a piece of kitchen paper. That paper was going to become the main part of the flower.

The children started by combining the colours. They filled the whole paper with a mix of colours. We left the papers to dry outside.

When the coloured paper was dried, the children started to make the flower by folding the paper and holding it with a pipe cleaner.

The children wanted to have some leaves on their flowers so after some discussion we decided that the best option was to use pegs. They painted the pegs.

For the base of the plant the children used some paper cups. They painted them at the top.

The children were happy with their flowers. Great surprise for mum!
